Two of my fav interviews have been with film maker John Waters and pro-sex educator and artist Annie Sprinkle. I’m please to have picked the brains of many innovators: video wizard Jennifer Juniper Stratford, pornpop Actually Huizenga, musician & director Ssion, hunky punk Seth Bogart, street artist Jeremy Novy, astrologer & queer magickal Lexi Laphor (femmeasfuck) & RuPaul contestant Miss Fame.
POP CULTURE & POLITICS
Media and underground movements have been another fav focal point, especially regarding youth culture: John Hughes’ connection to Queer Fantasies & High School Trauma, How Girl Scouts Introduced Me to Feminism, my experience with Riot Grrrl & Queercore in the Southeast and the Important Life Lessons From ‘Troop Beverly Hills’. I’m a fan of influential, controversial women a la Courtney Love, The Femme Fatale, and Spring’s Slutty Goddesses, along with music-based history via Bowiesexual, Disco Inferno and Acid House, Androgyny & The Cult of the Club Kids.
In the middle of a rich creative community, I’ve also written dozens of pieces about ATL’s artists for ArtsATL, Immersive, Project Q & Creative Loafing. Too many to name, check out MonteQarlo, ATL Rollergirls, WCAGA’s Art & Activism, Taylor Alxndr, and Man Up, Yancey.
